Parveen Shakir
was a legendary female poet who started her professional career in her childhood. Her first book was “Khushbu”. Then she came up with other books named Sad-Barg, Khud’kalaami, and Inkar. Sadly, she died in a car accident while she was going to work in 1994.
We are always willing to add more and more poetry of her
kamaal-e-zabt ko Khud bhii to aazamaauungii
kamaal-e-zabt ko Khud bhii to aazamaauungii
main apane haath se us kii dulhan sajaauungii

badan ke karb ko vo bhii samajh na paayegaa
main dil mein rouungii aankhon mein muskuraauungii
vo kyaa gayaa ke rafaaqat ke saare lutf gaye
main kis se ruuTh sakuungii kise manaauungii
vo ik rishtaa-e-benaam bhii nahiin lekin
main ab bhii us ke ishaaron pe sar jhukaauungii
bichhaa diyaa thaa gulaabon ke saath apanaa vajuud
vo so ke uThe to Khvaabon kii raakh uthaauungii
ab us kaa fan to kisii aur se manasuub huaa
main kis kii nazm akele mein gungunaauungii
javaz DhuuNDh rahaa thaa naii muhabbat kaa
vo kah rahaa thaa ke main us ko bhuul jaauungii
sama'aton mein ghane jangalon kii saansen hain
